Hartland man arrested on domestic assault, drug charges

HARTLAND — A 25-year-old Hartland man was arrested on multiple charges including first-degree aggravated domestic assault and cannabis possession after a Saturday night incident on Mace Hill Road.

Jon Thoms was taken into custody at 1:38 a.m. Sunday in Norwich by Windsor County Sheriff’s deputies.

The arrest followed a 9:19 p.m. Saturday dispatch to Mace Hill Road for a reported domestic assault, according to the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department.

Thoms faces charges of recklessly endangering another person, first-degree aggravated domestic assault, aggravated disorderly conduct, unlawful mischief, second-degree unlawful restraint and possession of more than one pound of cannabis.

Deputies also found Thoms in possession of firearms and ammunition, despite being federally prohibited from possessing firearms.

Thoms was processed at the Hartford Police Department and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility on $15,000 bail.

He is scheduled to appear in Windsor County Court on July 7 at 1 p.m.

Multiple deputies, officers and Vermont State Police troopers from Hartford and Windsor police departments assisted in the investigation.
