SPRINGFIELD — An investigation by the Springfield Police Homicide Unit has led to the arrest of a suspect in connection with a February murder.
At approximately 3 a.m. on Feb. 25, officers responded to the 0-100 block of Allen Park Road for a report of unknown trouble.
Inside the home, officers found two gunshot victims.
A 54-year-old woman, Leslie Westbrook, died at the scene.
A male victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives identified 60-year-old Robert Hatcher as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
At about 6:10 a.m. on July 2, law enforcement executed the warrant at Hatcher’s home on the 200 block of Stapleton Road.
Hatcher was taken into custody without incident.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Springfield District Court on Thursday.
Hatcher faces multiple charges, including murder, firearm assault to murder, and armed robbery.
