Brighton, NY police arrest suspect after burglary, multi-county chase

BRIGHTON — A suspicious condition was reported at a residence on Southern Drive on June 26 at approximately 7:57 a.m.

Upon arrival, Brighton Police confirmed that the occupied residence had been burglarized, with the victim’s purse, credit cards, and 2024 Buick Encore stolen.

Shortly after, Rochester Police Department officers spotted the stolen vehicle on Lyell Avenue.

When police attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver refused to comply, leading to a pursuit that spanned multiple jurisdictions in Monroe and Livingston counties before concluding in Arkport, Steuben County.

A suspect was taken into custody by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
