FALL RIVER — Following a follow-up investigation into an incident on Sunday in the 200 block of Ames Street, the Fall River Police Department’s Community Action & Suppression Team (C.A.S.T.) teamed up with the Patrol Bureau to execute a search warrant, leading to the seizure of multiple firearms and the arrest of a local man.

Detective Christopher Teves, who was granted search warrants for both a residence and a vehicle, oversaw the operation that resulted in the confiscation of a .308 AR10 rifle from the residence and a Glock 19 from the vehicle’s center console.

The Crime Scene Unit processed both weapons.

Jonathan Spears, 33, faces several charges for violations of Massachusetts firearms laws, including two counts of Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, three counts of Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and two counts of Possession of Ammunition without an FID/LTC.

The successful operation underscored the effective partnership between the C.A.S.T. and the Patrol Bureau as they work in tandem to address gun-related crimes and enhance community safety.
