Vergennes woman arrested for identity theft in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — A 54-year-old Vergennes woman was arrested on charges of identity theft, false pretenses, grand larceny, and forgery after a Charlotte resident reported suspicious transactions on her Capital One bank statements.

Vermont State Police said they began their investigation on Sept. 4 after being alerted to the fraudulent activity.

The investigation led to Nichole Nimblett, who was taken into custody on Oct. 9 at approximately 3 p.m.

Nimblett was processed at the Williston Barracks without incident.

Following the processing, she was issued a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on Oct. 10 at 10:30 a.m. to face the charges.
