Hampton man found guilty for road rage incident, assault

HAMPTON — A Hampton man has been found guilty of a June of 2022 a road rage incident that occurred in Massachusetts.

Douglas Grant, 57, who was found guilty of assaulting and battering a person over the age of sixty.

The victim was assaulted by Grant in a parking lot and followed onto a bridge, where Grant was eventually pulled over by police.

The victim suffered injuries to their nose and upper lip, leading to a warrant for Grant’s arrest.

Court documents show that Grant had previously been convicted of manslaughter in Florida.

He was found guilty by a Newburyport District Court jury and sentenced to six months in jail, with all but six months suspended for two and a half years while on probation.

During that time, he must remain drug and alcohol-free with random screenings and complete an anger management course.

He has also been ordered to stay away from the victim and pay restitution.
