DHART helicopter called to assist medical emergency in Orwell

ORWELL — Emergency responders say they were toned out to assist with a medical emergency involving a person who had fallen down a flight of stairs in Orwell yesterday.

The incident took place at around 6:00 p.m.

OVFD personnel was first on the scene, followed by Orwell First Response, and Middlebury Regional Emergency & Medical Services.

Authorities say due to the nature of the patient’s injuries, a Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team helicopter was dispatched.

OVFD was assigned to set up and manage the Landing Zone.

The patient was packaged and transported, with the helicopter liftoff at 7:32 pm.

There is no update at this time regarding the condition of the victim.
