Driver charged with DUI following two-car crash in Killington

KILLINGTON — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in Killington on Saturday.

The crash took place at the intersection of the Killington Access Road and West Hill Road at around 12:10 a.m.

According to the report, Michael Asselin, 31, of Mendon, ran a red light and came into contact with a vehicle being driven by Seamus Fitzpatrick, 27, of Glenmont, NY.

Police say Asselin was driving his vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants. 

He was taken into custody and processed at the State Police Rutland for DUI. 

He was later released with a citation to appear before the Rutland County Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date and time.

Troopers were assisted on scene by the Killington Fire Department.
