WESTMORELAND, NY — A 15-year-old male juvenile was injured after colliding with a deer while operating a dirtbike on West South Street.
Deputies responded to the scene around 8:58 p.m. on July 10.
The juvenile was riding east on West South Street when a deer entered the southern shoulder of the roadway.
The juvenile struck the deer and was ejected from the dirtbike.
He was transported by Mercy Flight to Upstate Medical Hospital for further evaluation.
The incident remains under investigation.
Deputies were assisted by the Westmoreland Fire Department and COVAC Ambulance.
