OGDEN, NY — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Thursday evening at the intersection of Ogden Parma Town Line Road and Gillett Road.
Steven Zahran, 24, of Parma, was operating a 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on Ogden Parma Town Line Road at about 5:21 p.m.
Zahran was traveling in excess of the posted 40 mph speed limit when he passed an uninvolved vehicle in a no-passing zone, placing him in the path of a vehicle that had turned westbound onto Ogden Parma Town Line Road from Gillett Road.
Zahran was found deceased in the roadway.
The operator of the second vehicle remained at the scene and was not injured.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Spencerport Fire District, and Gates Volunteer Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
The preliminary investigation found the crash to be non-criminal in nature, with speed and unsafe passing as contributing factors.
