1 min read

DOVER, NJ — The Dover Police Department said Monday it does not assist with civil deportation operations after a video circulated online incorrectly claiming officers were involved in a federal immigration enforcement action.

The department assisted the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office within the town on July 6, according to a statement released to residents.

The event was captured on camera by a passerby and incorrectly claims the Dover Police Department was assisting in federal deportation operations.

The Dover Police Department adheres to all New Jersey Attorney General guidelines and does not assist with civil deportation operations.

All inquiries into Morris County Prosecutor’s Office operations are to be made through the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Public Information Officer.
