MALTA, NY — State Police of Clifton Park arrested a Brooklyn man on drug charges July 5.
Lionel J. Manigault, 41, of Brooklyn, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 1st, a class A felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd, a class B felony.
He also was cited for vehicle and traffic law violations.
At about 9:29 p.m., troopers stopped a vehicle driven by Manigault northbound on Interstate 87 for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
The investigation discovered and seized more than 3 pounds of a controlled substance that later field-tested positive for containing cocaine, along with a large amount of U.S. currency.
Manigault was arrested at the scene and transported to SP Clifton Park for processing.
He was arraigned at Malta Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail.
