Woman charged in motel altercation in Ulster

ULSTER, NY — Members of the Ulster Police Department responded to a motel in the Town of Ulster at about 12:50 p.m. July 6 for a report of a male with a gunshot wound.

Police located two juvenile victims and later found an adult victim.

It was confirmed that a shot was fired, but none of the victims had sustained a penetrating wound from a projectile.

Two of the three victims were treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation revealed that Elizabeth V. Jansen, 32, of Kingston, while acting in concert with another adult, both armed with weapons, entered a dwelling to confront another.

An altercation ensued at which time one juvenile and one adult were injured.

During the altercation, the adult acting in concert with Jansen discharged a firearm.

Jansen was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, attempted assault in the second degree, conspiracy in the fourth degree, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

At arraignment, Jansen was remanded to the Ulster County Jail.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the other subject.

The Ulster Police was assisted by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police, the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, Empress Ambulance and Ulster Hose Co. 5.
