MECHANICSBURG, PA — A man was charged with contempt for violating a protection from abuse order after authorities said he used a third party to contact the victim from jail.
The victim contacted police at approximately 4:38 p.m. on June 22 to report that an individual covered by a PFA order had a third party send text messages about an open criminal case.
Zahir May, 20, of Pennsylvania, was incarcerated at Cumberland County Prison at the time of the alleged violation.
Charges were filed against May, who was arraigned on June 23 before Judge Mark Martin.
Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.
A hearing is scheduled at a later date.
