LONDONDERRY, NH — An 18-year-old driver from Derry was arrested after a pursuit on Interstate 93.

At 3:01 a.m. Wednesday, State Trooper Alexander Guilbeault, who is assigned to the Troop B barracks, observed a silver 2012 Hyundai Sonata traveling at 106 mph on I-93 northbound in Londonderry.

Trooper Guilbeault attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver disregarded his signals and continued driving at a high rate of speed.

A pursuit ensued.

Shortly after, the Hyundai suffered a disabling engine issue and stopped.

Troopers took three occupants into custody, including the driver, who was identified as Tyrel Peer, 18, of Derry.

Peer was charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor counts of disobeying an officer and bail jumping, a violation of driving after suspension, and numerous other violation-level offenses.

The other two occupants were released without charges.

Peer is being held at the Rockingham County jail pending a scheduled arraignment in Derry District Court on Thursday.
