Man arrested on weapons, drug charges in Waterbury

WATERBURY, CT — A 48-year-old man faces multiple charges after police responded to a complaint about a person pointing a firearm and making threats on June 28, 2026.

Waterbury Police Patrol officers initially responded to the weapons complaint involving an unknown male.

The department’s Crime Prevention Unit located the vehicle involved through further investigation.

Police seized $989, 30 MDMA pills, 62.2 grams of marijuana, a Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm firearm and 36.5 grams of crack cocaine during the investigation.

Chamorey Mourning, 48, of Waterbury was arrested and charged with threatening in the first degree while armed, breach of peace in the second degree, carrying a pistol without a permit, failure to keep narcotics in original container, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, illegal transfer/purchase of pistols/revolvers, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of hallucinogenic with intent to sell and possession of one-half ounce or more of cocaine in freebase form.
