SARATOGA COUNTY, NY — A Northumberland woman was arrested Friday on a felony charge of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree.
Misty L. Yando, 48, of Northumberland, is accused of filing a false affidavit of service with Saratoga County Family Court, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest stems from a complaint received on Feb. 20.
Yando allegedly filed an affidavit claiming she served certified court paperwork on Dec. 29 in the town of Clifton Park when no such service was ever completed.
She was released on an appearance ticket pending proceedings in Ballston Spa Village Court.
Offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree is a class E felony.
