COVENTRY, RI — A Coventry man was arrested on reckless driving charges following a traffic stop Tuesday morning.
James Kennedy, 36, of Coventry, was taken into custody at 10:30 a.m. on Tiogue Avenue, according to Rhode Island State Police.
Kennedy was charged with reckless driving and other offenses against public safety – first offense.
He was released at the scene and issued a summons to appear in Third District Division District Court.
Man arrested on bench warrant in West Warwick

WEST WARWICK, RI — A Cranston man was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant late Tuesday night.
Dionis Sanchez Peralta, 24, of Cranston, was taken into custody at 11:37 p.m. following a traffic stop on Roberts Street, according to Rhode Island State Police.
Peralta was wanted on a Third Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear – hold without bail for technical violation on an original charge of domestic violence – simple assault.
The original charge originated from the West Warwick Police Department.
Peralta was transported to the State Police Hope Valley Barracks for processing and later turned over to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.
