Flags stolen from municipal flagpole in Palmer Township

PALMER TOWNSHIP, PA — Police are investigating the theft of two flags from a municipal flagpole outside the Palmer Library.

The incident occurred just before midnight on June 24, when an unknown individual lowered and stole a Pride Flag and Juneteenth Flag from the township’s flagpole at 1 Weller Place.

Palmer Township officials condemned the theft in a statement, calling it “an attack on our shared civic space.”

The township said the person responsible appeared to be dressed in a manner suggesting they were attempting to conceal their identity.

Police have released a photograph of the suspect and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual.
