Woman arrested on DWI charge in Walton

WALTON, NY — An 18-year-old woman was arrested on drunken driving charges Saturday night in the village.

Sheriff’s deputies were traveling on Prospect Avenue when they observed a vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit, according to Sheriff Craig S. DuMond.

A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as Julianna Burr of Otego.

Upon completion of their investigation, deputies arrested and charged Burr with driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 of 1% or more of alcohol, both misdemeanors.

Burr was additionally charged with speed in zone and failure to dim headlights, both violations.

She was released on appearance tickets returnable to Walton Village Court at a later date.
