WALTON, NY — Delaware County Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Walton resident following the execution of an arrest warrant issued by the Town of Walton Court.
On June 24, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an “in progress” domestic incident in the Town of Walton.
During the course of their investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies found that Ryan Barringer, 45, of Walton, had engaged in a physical domestic with another person while a child was in the same proximity.
Upon conclusion of the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies submitted requests for an arrest warrant and an order of protection to the Town of Walton Court.
On June 25, Sheriff’s Deputies received both issued documents from the court.
On the evening of June 25, Sheriff’s Deputies located and arrested Barringer on the warrant at his residence in the Town of Walton.
Barringer was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, and harassment in the second degree, a violation, both offenses of the New York State Penal Law.
Barringer was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and upon completion, he was arraigned at the Delaware County CAP Court.
Barringer was released on his own recognizance and was directed to reappear at the Town of Walton Court at a later date to answer the charges.
