BLACK BROOK, NY — New York State Police arrested two people on burglary and child endangerment charges on June 21, 2026.
Tammy L. Apperson, 59, of Saranac, and James A. Apperson, 59, of Saranac, were each charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of burglary in the second degree.
Troopers responded to a residence on Ore Bed Road in the town of Black Brook at approximately 12:08 p.m. for a reported dispute.
An investigation determined that Tammy and James Apperson, who are the landlords of the residence, entered the home without permission.
While inside the residence, they allegedly yelled at the occupants and removed items from the home by throwing them outside.
Several children were present during the incident.
The occupants repeatedly requested that Tammy and James Apperson leave the residence, but they refused to do so.
Both individuals were arrested and transported to State Police Plattsburgh for processing.
Tammy and James Apperson were arraigned in the Town of Beekmantown Court and were subsequently released on their own recognizance.
