Man arrested on lewdness charges in Gowanda

GOWANDA, NY — State police arrested a man accused of exposing himself to two teenagers on June 20.

Benjamin M. Cole, 32, of Gowanda, was charged with first-degree public lewdness and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Troopers from SP Collins responded to a reported fight in progress on South Water Street in the village of Gowanda at 8:36 p.m.

Investigation determined that two young teens were walking on the sidewalk on Buffalo Street when an older male walked toward them with his genitals exposed from the front of his pants.

The teens told adults about the incident, which led to a confrontation.

Troopers located Cole and arrested him.

Cole was transported to SP Collins for processing.

He was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Collins Court on July 9, 2026.
