MILTON, NY — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call Monday at 12:22 a.m. at 885 Middleline Road.
Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Joseph L. Clute, 26, of Milton, for assault in the 2nd degree, aggravated criminal contempt (class D felonies), criminal contempt in the 1st degree (class E felony) and endangering the welfare of a child (class A misdemeanor).
Clute is accused of intentionally causing physical injury to the victim by striking them to their head with a can of beer and of hitting them over their head with a tool kit full of drill bits, violating an order of protection in the process.
A minor child was in the residence at the time of incident and allegedly heard some of the assault.
He was arraigned before the Honorable Timothy M. Brown in Milton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings in that court.
The victim was evaluated on scene by emergency medical services.
