NEWBURY, VT — Vermont State Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a white van that left the scene of a crash on June 19, 2026.

Troopers with the St. Johnsbury Barracks received a report of the crash at approximately 7:10 p.m. on U.S. Route 302 between Wallace Hill Road and the Wells River Rail Trail.

Investigation revealed a white van with an unknown registration side-swiped a white Chevrolet City Express while traveling toward Wells River.

The operator of the Chevrolet Express, Linwood St Laurent, 55, of Lisbon, New Hampshire, was screened by EMS on scene and taken to an area hospital for further diagnostic with apparent minor injury.

A passenger, Melissa St Laurent, 44, of Lisbon, New Hampshire, was also involved in the crash.

The white van that left the scene should have damage on the driver’s side consistent with side-swiping a vehicle.

The public is encouraged to review any security footage that shows this area for the white van.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Johnsbury Barracks at (802) 748-3111.
