YORK, NY — A Pennsylvania woman faces felony charges after authorities say she was found driving with a blood alcohol content nearly three times the legal limit with two children in her vehicle.
Nancy Kolb, 42, of Reading, Pennsylvania, was arrested June 17 following a traffic complaint in the area of Genesee Street.
Sheriff’s deputies responded at approximately 5:31 p.m. to reports of a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner.
The vehicle was later reported to be in a ditch attempting to get out.
Deputies located the vehicle and made contact with Kolb, whom they suspected was under the influence of alcohol.
Deputy Hayden Strobel of the Sheriff’s Office STOP DWI Unit conducted a DWI investigation, which included standardized field sobriety tests.
Kolb was taken into custody after the investigation.
Two juvenile passengers, ages 10 and 12, were in the vehicle, making the arrest a felony under Leandra’s Law.
Kolb was transported to the Sheriff’s Office Headquarters in Geneseo, where Deputy Meghan Waters administered a breathalyzer test.
The test revealed Kolb had a blood alcohol content of .22 percent.
Kolb was charged with felony Leandra’s Law DWI, two counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child and violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
She was arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part before Town of Geneseo Justice Houston.
The judge revoked Kolb’s New York State operating privileges and released her on her own recognizance, as the offenses do not qualify for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act.
