STAMFORD, NY — A Stamford man faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from deputies and resisting arrest.
Wesley Eignor Jr., 29, of Stamford, was arrested June 10, 2026, following an incident on State Highway 10 in the Stamford/Hobart area, according to Delaware County Sheriff Craig S. DuMond.
Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a motor vehicle, but the operator failed to stop and continued driving for a period of time before eventually stopping in a parking lot, DuMond said.
Upon taking Eignor into custody, he attempted to fight the deputies, according to the sheriff.
Eignor was charged with one count of attempted assault in the second degree, a class D felony; two counts of obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree, class A misdemeanors; and one count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, a class E felony.
He was additionally charged with multiple vehicle and traffic offenses, including fail to comply, speed in zone, uninspected motor vehicle and unlicensed operator.
Eignor was processed at the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and turned over to the Delaware County Correctional Facility, where he was arraigned and held on bail.
