KEENE, NH — Autopsies have been completed on the bodies of a husband and wife found dead in their home earlier this week.

Attorney General John M. Formella and Keene Police Chief Steven M. Stewart announced the results Wednesday.

Donna Fairbanks, 70, and her husband Chandler Fairbanks, 72, were discovered in their Keene home on June 16, 2026.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted both autopsies and determined that Donna Fairbanks’s cause of death was gunshot wounds of the head and chest, and her manner of death was homicide.

The office also determined that Chandler Fairbanks’s cause of death was a gunshot wound of the head, and his manner of death was suicide.

Based upon the information available, it appears that on June 16, inside their home, Chandler Fairbanks shot and killed his wife and then shot and killed himself.
