MANCHESTER, NH — A fugitive wanted on child sexual assault charges was extradited from West Virginia and returned to New Hampshire on Tuesday.
Brandon Yvon Gilbert, 23, of Manchester, was brought back to face four felony indictments, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Gilbert was wanted on an active arrest warrant issued by Hillsborough County Superior Court South after he failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing on April 22.
He fled the state and was located by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Services Division in Charleston, West Virginia.
Gilbert was taken into custody without incident on May 20 through coordinated efforts with the Charleston Police Department.
He was charged as a fugitive from justice pending extradition proceedings.
Gilbert faces three counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault involving a victim under the age of 13 and one count of witness tampering.
