Woman shot by stray projectile in Swanton

SWANTON, VT — A woman was shot and injured at her home Wednesday afternoon after a stray projectile entered her residence.

The incident was reported at about 12:26 p.m. at a home on Ceres Circle, according to the Vermont State Police.

Initial investigation indicates the projectile was fired from a nearby location.

First responders transported the victim to Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

Her condition is unknown at this time.

The state police has identified individuals connected with the incident.

Authorities say there is no further danger to the public.
