SOMERS, NY — A woman was arrested on drunken driving charges after crashing into a utility pole on West Hill Drive on June 16, 2026.
New York State Police responded to the scene at approximately 5:45 p.m. for a report of a property-damage motor vehicle collision.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Maria Martinez De Luca, 45, of Somers.
Police said De Luca displayed signs of intoxication during the investigation.
She failed standardized field sobriety tests administered at the scene.
De Luca was taken into custody and transported to State Police Somers for processing.
She submitted to a chemical breath test, which resulted in a blood alcohol content of 0.35%.
De Luca was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated: per se-BAC 0.18% or more alcohol in blood, no prior offenses, and driving while intoxicated, both unclassified misdemeanors.
She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Somers Court on July 6, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.
Following processing, De Luca was transported to a local medical facility for evaluation.
