SCHOHARIE, NY — A 37-year-old man has been arrested following an investigation into a reported sexual offense involving a juvenile victim in the Village of Schoharie.
In April, deputies responded to a report of a sexual offense that was alleged to have occurred at a residence in the Village of Schoharie.
During the investigation, deputies conducted interviews and obtained sworn depositions.
The investigation determined that the defendant allegedly subjected a juvenile under the age of 17 and another subject to unwanted sexual contact.
The incident was reported to law enforcement after the victim disclosed the allegations to family members.
As a result of the investigation, Erin W. Rahm, 37, of Schoharie, was charged with two counts of forcible touching, a Class A misdemeanor, and endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor.
Rahm was processed on the charges and transported to the Centralized Arraignment Part Court for arraignment.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and Investigations Division in conjunction with the Schoharie County Department of Social Services – Child Protective Services and Schoharie County Child Advocacy Center.
