CARROLLTON, NY — A Pennsylvania man was arrested after allegedly leaving a firearm in a truck stop bathroom and returning to retrieve it.
Robert A. Allen, 41, of Erie, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody by deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Seneca Nation Allegany Territory on June 15, 2026 at 7:20 p.m.
Deputies responded to Sassy’s Truck Stop in Carrollton following a complaint that an employee found a firearm in the bathroom.
While deputies investigated the incident, Allen came back into Sassy’s in an attempt to retrieve the firearm.
Investigation showed that Allen was in illegal possession of the firearm by not having the firearm registered in the State of New York.
Allen was charged with criminal possession of a firearm.
He was processed and released with an appearance ticket.
Allen is due in Carrollton Town Court at a later date.
