Woman arrested on fraud charges in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, NJ — A woman was arrested June 15 following a months-long fraud investigation by the Lakewood Police Department.

Officers took a report Feb. 10, 2026, from a resident who discovered unauthorized charges on her bank account totaling more than $1,000.

Detectives obtained records from several online service providers and identified the suspect as Kelly Bragg, 53, of Lakewood.

Investigation revealed Bragg had previously been employed by a local transportation service utilized by the victim.

Criminal charges were filed May 11, 2026, including multiple counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and theft by deception.

Officers received information regarding Bragg’s whereabouts June 15 and coordinated efforts to take her into custody.

She was located and arrested without incident.

Bragg was processed at Lakewood Police Headquarters and transported to the Ocean County Correctional Facility pending court proceedings.

Chief Gregory Meyer commended the officers involved in the investigation.

“This arrest is the result of thorough investigative work and a commitment to protecting members of our community from those who seek to take advantage of others,” Meyer said.

“I am proud of the professionalism and persistence displayed by our officers throughout this investigation,” he said.
