KEENE, NH — Two people were found dead inside a home on Hurricane Road on Monday morning in what authorities are investigating as a potential murder-suicide.
Officers from the Keene Police Department responded to the residence at approximately 11:10 a.m. to conduct a welfare check on the occupants.
Upon entering the home, officers discovered the bodies of two adult residents, a 70-year-old woman and her 72-year-old husband.
Both appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Autopsies are scheduled for Wednesday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord, New Hampshire.
New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella and Keene Police Chief Steven M. Stewart said there is no known threat to the general public at this time.
Authorities said no further information is expected until after both autopsies have been conducted.
