3 arrested in child exploitation operation in Hartford

HARTFORD, CT — Three men were arrested following an undercover operation targeting individuals seeking to engage in sexual activity with someone they believed to be an underage female, police said.

Members of the Hartford Police Special Investigation Division’s Child Exploitation Prevention Unit, working with the FBI Crimes Against Children/Human Trafficking Task Force, conducted the operation on May 28, 2026.

The three suspects arrived at a predetermined location in Hartford and were taken into custody without incident, according to police.

All three were transported to the Hartford Police Detention Facility and held on $500,000 bonds.

Billa Hasan, of Wolcott, Connecticut, was charged with criminal attempt/sexual assault 2nd degree, criminal attempt/sexual abuse of a minor and criminal attempt risk of injury – sexual contact with a victim under 16 years of age.

Abdul Sheikh, of Rocky Hill, Connecticut, was charged with criminal attempt/sexual assault 2nd degree, criminal attempt/sexual abuse of a minor and criminal attempt risk of injury – sexual contact with a victim under 16 years of age.

Lennox Williams, of Holyoke, Massachusetts, was charged with criminal attempt/sexual assault 2nd degree, criminal attempt/sexual abuse of a minor and criminal attempt risk of injury – sexual contact with a victim under 16 years of age.
