HOPE VALLEY, RI — A woman turned herself in to state police on multiple fraud charges Tuesday evening.
Troopers arrested Courtney V. Smith, 37, of West Warwick, at 5:45 p.m. at the Hope Valley Barracks.
Smith was wanted on an affidavit and arrest warrant charging her with obtaining property by false pretenses or personation exceeding $10,000, giving false documents to an agent, employee or public official, and fraudulently obtaining public assistance exceeding $500.
The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation.
Smith was processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace.
She was released with a future Third Division District Court date.
