BUFFALO, NY — State Police arrested an 18-year-old man on multiple weapons charges following a traffic stop and foot pursuit on June 9, 2026.
Kacuol I. Chol, of Buffalo, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and menacing in the second degree with a weapon.
Troop A Community Stabilization Unit observed a vehicle traveling with four males in the backseat without seatbelts.
Two males were observed pointing possible toy firearms out the window at other vehicles.
A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle.
After the traffic stop, Chol, who was not wearing his seatbelt, fled the scene.
Chol was apprehended after a foot pursuit.
Police said Chol was in possession of a loaded Glock 43X handgun with a high-capacity magazine in his waistband.
Chol was taken into custody and transported to State Police Buffalo for processing.
He was transported to the Buffalo lockup for arraignment.
