TROY, NY — A 25-year-old man was arrested Monday evening after allegedly threatening someone with a handgun during an argument.
Troy Police patrol officers responded to 739 River Street around 4:30 p.m. June 8 after a victim reported being involved in an argument with another person who displayed a handgun.
Officers identified and detained the suspect upon arrival without incident.
The victim and suspect are known to each other as they live in the same general area, police said.
Police determined the suspect lived at the address and obtained a court-ordered search warrant for the suspect’s apartment.
Evidence technicians recovered three loaded illegal handguns and high capacity magazines during the search.
Matthew M. Gonzalez, 25, of Troy, was charged with second-degree menacing, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Gonzalez was processed at Troy Police Central Station and arraigned in Troy City Court.
He was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
