JAMESTOWN, NY — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a man on weapons and drug charges.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at King Street and Kinney Street at around 11:59 p.m. June 6, 2026, for observed traffic infractions.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as William A. Gordon.
Through investigation, officers found Gordon was in possession of a loaded handgun and a quantity of methamphetamine.
Gordon was determined not to possess a New York State pistol permit and was taken into custody without incident.
He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he was booked on criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
Gordon was held in the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
