JAMESTOWN, NY — Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s First Platoon arrested a man on an outstanding warrant and drug charges June 8, 2026.
Police were on patrol in the area of North Main Street and West 5th Street at approximately 12:56 p.m. when they observed Jay P. Campbell, 58, of Jamestown, who was known to have an active warrant for his arrest through the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrest, officers recovered a quantity of fentanyl and methamphetamine on Campbell’s person.
He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, in addition to the outstanding warrant.
Campbell was held pending arraignment.
