Man arrested on child solicitation charges in Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH — A registered sex offender was arrested Friday following a multi-state investigation into the online solicitation of a minor.

Thomas Charron, 47, of Manchester, was taken into custody by members of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Services Division on multiple warrants issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Authorities executed a search warrant at Charron’s residence following the arrest.

The arrest resulted from a collaborative investigation conducted by New Hampshire and Virginia law enforcement agencies into the online solicitation of a minor under the age of 15.

Charron was additionally charged with violations of New Hampshire’s sex offender registration requirements.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in the 9th Circuit-District Division-Manchester on New Hampshire charges, including Certain Uses of Computer Services Prohibited and Change of Registration Information; Duty to Inform.

Charron will face Fugitive from Justice proceedings at a later date and is expected to be extradited to Virginia to answer charges stemming from that state’s investigation.

The investigation involved the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office, the Derry Police Department and the Manassas Police Department in Virginia.
