Motorist arrested on warrants in Luzerne Borough

LUZERNE BOROUGH, PA — A traffic stop for an expired inspection led to the arrest of a driver on multiple warrants Saturday morning.

A Luzerne Borough police officer conducted the stop at 9:24 a.m. Saturday.

The driver admitted to having a suspended license, according to police.

Officers discovered the driver had three active arrest warrants for drug-related offenses.

Police also found a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The driver was transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on the warrants, two from Luzerne County and one from Lackawanna County.

The driver faces new drug offense charges in addition to traffic violations from the stop.
