Man arrested on burglary, forcible touching charges in Catskill

CATSKILL, NY — The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation announced the arrest of Mario Quimatoa Tubon, 41, of Catskill, for Burglary in the 2nd Degree (Sexually Motivated), a Class C felony, and Forcible Touching, a Class A misdemeanor.

The investigation began on June 3, 2026, after Greene County 911 received a report of a burglary in progress at an apartment complex on Embought Road in the Town of Catskill.

As a precautionary measure, Catskill Elementary School was placed in lockout status during the incident.

At no time was there a threat to the school or to public safety.

Tubon was processed at State Police Catskill without incident.

He was arraigned in Catskill Town Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail.

Bail was set at $75,000 cash, $100,000 bond, or a $200,000 partially secured bond.

Tubon is scheduled to return to Catskill Town Court on June 17, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.

The New York State Police was assisted by the Catskill Police Department.

The investigation remains ongoing.
