Man charged with child sex abuse material possession in North Tonawanda

NORTH TONAWANDA, NY — A former bus driver faces multiple felony charges after authorities seized electronic devices containing child sexual abuse material during search warrant executions June 5, 2026.

Nicholas Macdonald, 26, of North Tonawanda, was detained when North Tonawanda Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations executed search warrants in the 1100 block of Payne Avenue and the 100 block of Vandervoort Street.

A review of electronic and digital evidence seized from Macdonald revealed a substantial quantity of photos and videos depicting child sexual abuse material, some of which included prepubescent minors, according to police.

Macdonald is charged with two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child, a Class D sexually motivated felony, and two counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, a Class E felony.

He was arrested and processed at the North Tonawanda Police Department, where he was held for arraignment in North Tonawanda City Court.

The investigation revealed Macdonald was a bus driver for Transpo Bus Services LLC.

He was immediately terminated by the company upon his arrest.

Transpo Bus Services is fully cooperating with the investigation, police said.
