OWEGO, NY — The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on felony charges after he allegedly brought methamphetamine into the county jail.
Rondell Dowdell, 37, of Endicott, was arrested May 18 on charges of promoting prison contraband in the first degree, a felony, tampering with physical evidence, a felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
The charges resulted from an investigation conducted at the Tioga County Jail after Dowdell was brought to the facility on other charges.
During the investigation, authorities found that Dowdell brought a quantity of methamphetamine into the jail intake area and attempted to discard the substance on the jail floor.
Dowdell was arraigned at centralized arraignment part with Justice Simmons and was released pending further court action.
