PROVIDENCE, RI — A three-alarm fire damaged multiple homes on Carpenter Street on Friday.
The fire occurred in the area of 160 Carpenter Street, according to the Providence Police Department.
All known occupants were safely evacuated.
The fire is currently under control.
Providence Police and Fire personnel remained on scene as of Friday evening.
Residents and motorists were asked to avoid Carpenter Street and surrounding roads to allow first responders to work safely.
Traffic delays and road closures were expected.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
