COHOES, NY — A Troy man faces multiple felony charges after police say he threatened someone with a firearm.
Officers responded to a report of a person being threatened with a firearm at a residence on Main Street at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
Upon arrival, officers located Loren Durkee, 42, of Troy, inside a truck behind the property.
Durkee was taken into custody without incident.
During the investigation, officers recovered a loaded Browning Arms Buck Mark .22 Long Rifle Pistol and three additional loaded magazines on Durkee’s person.
In total, 36 rounds of ammunition were seized along with .2 grams of methamphetamine.
Durkee was charged with criminal use of a firearm in the 2nd degree-possession of deadly weapon, a class C felony; criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree-loaded firearm, a class C felony; criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree-previous conviction, a class D felony; criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree-ammunition feeding device, a class D felony; criminal possession of a firearm in the 3rd degree-possession of a firearm, a class E felony; menacing in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor; criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor; and four counts of unlawful possession of certain ammunition feeding device, class B misdemeanors.
Durkee was arraigned in Cohoes City Court before Judge Galarneau and remanded to Albany County Correctional Facility without bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
