PITCAIRN, PA — Allegheny County Police have filed charges against a Monroeville man in connection with a hit-and-run that left a woman in critical condition.
County 9-1-1 was notified at 9:17 p.m. on May 21 of a vehicle striking a pedestrian in the 400 block of Broadway Boulevard.
First responders found an adult female who had been struck by a vehicle that fled the area.
The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit was requested and detectives initiated an investigation.
Through evidence recovered at the scene and multiple surveillance videos, detectives identified the vehicle involved as a Kia Optima.
Detectives utilized multiple investigative techniques to identify the driver as Patrick Body, 22, of Monroeville.
After consultation with the district attorney’s office, Body is facing multiple charges including aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death or personal injury, and failure to stop and render aid.
County Police have not been able to locate Body and are asking for the community’s help.
Body is described as 6 feet 3 inches tall.
