Man arrested on attempted homicide charge in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, PA — A 43-year-old man has been arrested following a stabbing incident that left a woman in critical condition.

Officers from the Allentown Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the 700 block of Saint John Street at approximately 2:34 p.m. Monday for a report of a stabbing.

Through an investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigations Division, police determined the incident was domestic in nature and that the suspect stabbed the victim multiple times.

The 49-year-old female victim is in critical but stable condition.

Amir Whitehurst, 43, of Allentown, has been charged with criminal attempt-homicide, aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of instruments of a crime, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
